I swear I felt the same way a couple of years ago. I was so deep in depression that either I wanted to kill myself or run away. And I remember pondering about it every night. I'd even made a list of the essentials I'd take with myself. But I soon realised I had nowhere to go. Where would a 14yr old go in the dead of the night? With no income, barely any pocket money, and no safe place I could go to, it was useless. I soon gave up on the thought of running away but the idea still lingers and haunts me unexpectedly.

Like would you believe I had a conversation with my friends about running away JUST TODAY MORNING and now i'm reading your article at night. Life really loves to play with me.

hahaha this actually made me smile for the first time today, the universe is a strange and messy thing but you’re never alone in it 🤍

This article touched a very important subject. Suicidal ideation is something that I think no one really talks about, yet so many experience it and just believe it is a normal part of being human, something they have to get used to and endure, and not something they can heal from.

im reading the priory of the orange tree right now, and one of the characters was talking about feeling trapped, and her maid said something like ‘everywhere feels like a cage to a young woman’. i actually had to stop and read it a few times because i’d never thought of it that way, but it still resonated so deeply. i wish there was somewhere we could all go and rest without pressure.. june i just simply adore your writing as always. hope all is well💘
